The Harrogate Band invites applications for the post of Musical Director.
The band is progressive and versatile, competing in the 1st Section. Our committed membership of friendly and enthusiastic players come from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. We rehearse twice weekly at our bandroom in Harrogate and perform at a wide range of engagements and contests - for further information please refer to our website at www.harrogateband.org.
Applicants are welcomed with a variety of backgrounds and experiences but must have Passion, Drive and Application, with the ability to bring energy and new ideas to the band.

Derwent Brass

This modern championship section brass band only rehearse once a week, in their own dedicated band room in Belper, Derbyshire. The band are commonly known as Derby's Premier Brass Band are a very popular concert attraction as well as being successful on the contest scene. We regularly will perform big band sets, choreography and use more innovative ideas amongst our concert programmes as well as always maintaining a high standard both in performance, but in literature, merchandising and marketing. Our 2nd Horn vacancy (due to other commitments) is available now, however will be covered if needed up to the National Finals and Bolsover Festival. In addition our percussion vacancy is available immediately (due to one of our regular team leaving for music college). Our percussion team is not one of the forgot about sections of the brass band - indeed our musical director likes to make features of the percussion and will bring it the front wherever possible.

We have a close relationship with most of the local organisations on a personal level which a lot of bands dont provide. We have a ver ybusy engagement schedule along with the odd contest & we never miss Whit Friday where we came 12th overall at Broadoak, not bad for a 4th section band.
