Fairfield (Buxton) Band

Formed in 1865 from what was once a Drum and Fife Band. The band's first instruments were purchased for the princely sum of 200. The money was raised by public subscription and included a donation from the Duke of Devonshire.

1992 - The band qualify from the Midlands Area 4th Section to compete at the National Finals in London. The band play at the 4th Section National Finals at Wembley Conference Centre and are promoted to the 3rd Section

1993 - For the second year running the band qualify from the Midlands Area to play at the National Finals at Wembley. The band play at the 3rd Section National Finals at Wembley Conference Centre.

2009 - The band finish third at the Midlands Area Championships in Bedworth playing Frank Hughes Talisman and qualify for the National Finals in Harrogate.
