Belle Vue Brass Band
Belle Vue Brass Band was established in 2005 with the dedication and hard work of its founding members. The band today has around 32 players associated with the band and the band has an open door policy whereby any one of any standard can come and join the band.
In late 2005 the band took part in a television commercial and in conjunction with the Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund this provided the resources to give the band a firm grounding. With the help and support of Manchester Airport the band has been able to acquire high quality instruments and this has had a positive impact on the continued growth and development of players within the band.
In 2007 the band took part in the Tameside Whit Friday Band contests for the first time and we went out with "Lynwood", and came 3rd in the 4th section at the Millbrook venue. The following year in 2008 the band went out with the "Waveney" and came 21st at the Bush in Droylsden. This year we are yet to decide what March we are going out with however we trust in the Judgement of Pete and we hope to improve on last years performance.
The band has become regular guests at the St Patricks Day Parade, St Georges Parade and other community projects.
